Capshaw Connection Newsletter - September 2009

ATTENDANCE:

Lessons are being taught in the classrooms from 8:00 - 2:50. Three morning tardies in a semester without a doctor's excuse is an unexcused absence. A student is allowed 5 absences in a semester without a doctor's excuse. Students must bring a doctor's excuse for any subsequent absences, or the absences will be unexcused. At this time Putnam County policy requires us to report these unexcused absences to the Director of School's office.

Jump Rope for Heart:

February 26th is Jump Rope for Heart day at Capshaw. We want to encourage all our 3rd and 4th graders to participate in raising money for the heart association and also teaching others how jumping rope can help them have a healthy heart.

Our Capshaw Jump Rope Team will perform Febuary 2nd at Cookeville High School, and February 27th at TTU.

Winter Service Project:

Capshaw's winter service project will be to help the young children of Putnam County. Beginning February 1st through February 14th we are collecting baby food to be distributed to families in need. Our goal is to collect 1,000 jars of food. What a wonderful gift of Love from our children to the community
